The preparatory programme for Fine Art and Design in Education costs €410. You will need to pay this amount before the programme begins. Paper and other materials for use during the lessons are included. You are responsible for your own drawing materials and also pay for the costs of the excursion, such as entrance fees and transport.
We believe it is important that everyone has the opportunity to pursue arts education. That is why ArtEZ offers scholarships to those who would like to take the preparatory programme but are unable to do so financially.

The Preparatory Course for Teachers of Visual Arts and Design consists of eight Saturdays of lessons at the academy in Zwolle. Lessons take place from 9:45 to 16:00. In addition, you will work on assignments at home for an average of half a day per week.
2026 lesson dates:
You will work on short assignments and an ongoing assignment based on a personal interest. You will learn to reflect, explore educational opportunities and create an exhibition of your work. On the last day, you will present your work to the group and receive a certificate of participation.
There are no admission requirements for the preparatory programme for Fine Art and Design in Education. Anyone aged 14 or older with an interest in art and education is welcome to enrol. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email with practical information and an invoice. Your place will then be reserved immediately.
