Music pre-Master - part-time - Zwolle

Programme per year

The Music Pre-Master's programme offers you the opportunity to prepare yourself optimally for a master's programme. Your programme is tailored to your experience and needs. You will take major subject classes in which you will develop your skills further on your own instrument. In addition, you will participate in Performance Lab together with the other master's students. If you wish, you can also get involved in projects within the Bachelor's programme in Music. In addition to the basic programme, you have the option to purchase extra main subject classes (or additional classes) through contract study. Thsee classes are taught by lecturers from the ArtEZ Conservatory in Zwolle.

For wind, string and vocal students

  • 20 hours of main subject lessons
  • 4 hours of piano coaching
  • Participation in the Performance Lab (1st and possibly 2nd semester, on Tuesdays)
  • Participation in bachelor's projects, such as:
  • the ArtEZ String Ensemble
  • main subject-related group lessons
  • the Muziek van NU project

You will coordinate the distribution of lessons with your teachers directly (for example, shorter but more lessons). You can also take additional lessons (for a fee).

You can organise your lessons in different ways:

  • Standard package: 20 hours of main subject lessons + 4 hours of piano coaching.
  • Alternative: 26.5 lessons of 45 minutes + 8 piano coaching lessons of 30 minutes.
  • Extension: 26 hours of main subject lessons instead of 20 hours, plus 4 hours of piano coaching.

Would you like to take advantage of this? Please let Annemarie Reitsma (Head of Master of Music) know by email.

You can also book extra lessons:

  • Main subject lesson (60 minutes) – €60
  • Piano coaching/accompaniment lesson (30 minutes) – €40

For other instruments

  • 26 hours of main subject lessons
  • Participation in Performance Lab
  • Participation in the bachelor projects, such as ensembles, group lessons, and the Muziek van NU project

Here too, you and your teacher will decide together how the lessons will be spread out over the academic year. The standard package consists of 26 hours of main subject lessons. Together with your teacher, you can adjust the distribution of these lessons.

Example: instead of 26 lessons of 60 minutes, you could also opt for more lessons of 45 minutes. This means you will have lessons more often, but they will be slightly shorter.
