During the pre-Master programme at ArtEZ, you will learn through a unique combination of knowledge, skills and practical experience. You will learn the most important theories and methodologies in music therapy, dive into psychology and the health sciences, and practise musical improvisation.
You will also gain a substantial amount of practical experience. You will complete a 12- to 16-hour weekly internship in a clinical setting and work directly with clients. This will allow you to discover what the profession entails and how music can be used as a therapeutic tool.
After this year, you will receive a certificate that allows you to apply for the Master's programme in Music Therapy at ArtEZ. Please note: this certificate will not imply or constitute professional registration. You will only be allowed to carry the title "music therapist" after completing the Master's programme.
