Music Therapy - pre-Master - Enschede

Admission process

The admission process consists of two steps: a motivation interview and – if required – a musical audition.

1. Motivation interview
Once we have received your application, you will be invited for a personal interview of about 30 minutes. In this conversation we will tell you more about the programme and discuss your background, experience and motivation. We will go into your motivation letter in more depth and talk about your goals. This is also your opportunity to ask questions and explore whether the programme is the right fit for you.

2. Musical audition
Depending on your previous education, you may also be asked to complete a musical audition. This is to show that you have the musical foundation needed to progress towards becoming a music therapist. The audition takes about 30 minutes and usually consists of singing and piano, sometimes with specific repertoire assignments.

If you already hold a bachelor’s degree in music and have completed at least four semesters of vocal and piano study at the conservatory level, you may be exempt from the audition.

Afterwards

After your interview and audition you will receive feedback and an indication of your suitability. Within three weeks you will receive the official decision of the examination committee in writing.
