The Interior Architecture preparatory programme costs €825. You must pay this fee before the start of the programme. All classes, lectures and access to the ArtEZ workshops are included.
You will also need materials for projects and presentations, such as printing and model-making materials. So you should budget for around €150 of additional costs.
The Interior Architecture preparatory programme runs on 12 Fridays, from 9:30 am to 4 pm, at ArtEZ Academy of Art & Design in Zwolle. In the morning you will work with your own group under the guidance of a core teacher. In the afternoon you will take part in sessions with guest lecturers: lectures, interviews, work evaluations or joint work sessions, often together with students from the Interior Architecture (Corpo-real) master’s programmes. During the preparatory programme you will have access to workshops, photographic studios and printing facilities. We work with a group of at least seven and at most 12 participants.
In addition to the classes, you will spend approximately three to six hours each week on research, experimentation, writing or documentation. In total, the programme requires approximately 110 hours of study time.
This preparatory programme is about rediscovering your environment. You will conduct research on a personally chosen theme and learn how to create a spatial design for that research. You will use a variety of means such as drawing, sketching, model building, writing, theoretical study and experimentation on a 1:1 scale.
The emphasis is on the process of research-based design: asking questions, making choices, documenting findings and reflecting on working methods. You can use what you create in your portfolio to prepare for an admission interview for the Interior Architecture (Corpo-real) master’s programme or to deepen your own professional practice.
