Why Dancer Creative Contemporary?

Are you in VMBO, HAVO or VWO and have a talent for dance? Do you dream of a professional dance career and want to prepare for a degree at a university of applied sciences? Then use the two-year Dancer Creative Contemporary programme as a stepping stone towards the Bachelor Dance Artist or Artist Educator in Dance. This preparatory course is suitable for ambitious dancers from around the age of 14.

You follow this programme at ROC Rijn IJssel. In the second year, as part of your work placement, you can take classes at ArtEZ.

The Dancer Creative Contemporary preparatory course is the ideal springboard to the dance programmes at ArtEZ. It offers excellent preparation for the admission procedure for the ArtEZ Dance Artist and ArtEZ Artisteducator in Dance programmes.

What the programme covers:

• A wide range of dance styles, including urban, classical, hip-hop and composition
• Theory classes in dance history, dance analysis, didactics, methodology, dance organisation, training theory/anatomy, nutrition and general entrepreneurial skills
• Learning to use your body well through Pilates and yoga classes.

The programme introduces you to almost all of the components you will encounter in the dance programmes at ArtEZ.

In the second year, you will take an audition. At that point, we assess whether, after obtaining your MBO diploma, you can progress to the Dance Artist or Artisteducator in Dance programme at ArtEZ.
