Neurologic Music Therapy® Basis Training - Continuing Education - Enschede

What is Neurologic Music Therapy?

Neurological Music Therapy (NMT™) is defined as the therapeutic application of music to cognitive, sensory and/or motor function disorders resulting from a neurological disorder of the human nervous system. The treatment techniques used in NMT™ are based on knowledge gained from scientific research into music perception and production and their effects on non-musical brain and behavioural functions.

Target groups that benefit from neurological music therapy include people with stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson's disease and Huntington's disease, developmental disorders, Alzheimer's disease, autism and other neurological disorders that affect cognition, motor skills and communication (e.g. MS, muscular dystrophy, etc.).
