After successfully completing the Master of Music Therapy, you may use the title Master of Arts (MA) with the addition ‘in Music Therapy’ (that is: Master of Arts in Music Therapy).
You can find this programme in RIO (the Dutch Registry of Institutions and Programmes) under code 49286. The formal programme name is Master of Music Therapy, and this is the name that will appear on your diploma.
The field of music therapy is broad, dynamic and continuously evolving. Music therapy is expanding into new areas of healthcare and technology, which are currently being explored and developed. ArtEZ graduates work across a wide range of settings, from developing countries to hospitals and research environments.
You might choose to focus on elderly care or mental health, or explore the broader use of music in neonatal and intensive care. Whatever direction you take, you will be equipped to explore new possibilities and help shape the emerging landscape at the intersection of music and healthcare.
Students and alumni of the Master of Music Therapy make meaningful contributions to healthcare and society. They are skilled in responding to the needs of individual clients, groups, communities or organisations. After graduating, you will be musically accomplished, clinically experienced and scientifically informed.
Many of our students go on to work as independent practitioners after completing the programme, while others combine entrepreneurship with a salaried position. That is why ArtEZ places strong emphasis on entrepreneurship, both during and after your studies.
