Admission interview

After you have registered via Studielink, you can send your portfolio, CV, motivation letter and research proposal. You will receive more information by email about how to do this. Below are some tips and guidelines per document that may be useful.

Portfolio

  • Please send us your portfolio as a PDF file.
  • Your portfolio may include up to 20 projects.
  • Your portfolio may be up to 20 MB in size.
  • Your portfolio gives a clear overview of the qualities of your work.
  • Your portfolio contains good descriptions of the research and process behind your projects.

CV

A good curriculum vitae contains at least the following elements:

  • an overview of your previous education and studies;
  • an overview of your relevant work experience;
  • an overview of your skills and interests, both in illustration and visual storytelling and beyond.

Short motivation letter

In the motivation letter, you briefly describe:

  • why you want to study Illustration Based Narrative;
  • what your plans and expectations are for the master’s programme;
  • how you see yourself as an illustrator and why you are a good fit for the programme;
  • what you want to achieve with this master’s programme.

Research proposal

In your research proposal, you describe the kind of research you want to carry out during the programme (max. one A4 page). You formulate a research question and describe the type and topic of the research you would like to work on during the programme. 

Entrance exam

Based on your CV, motivation letter and portfolio, the admission committee will decide whether you are invited for the admission interview. In the admission interview, we will assess your chances of graduating. The entrance exam consists of a conversation with the admission committee. 

Admission and enrolment

You will hear within two weeks of the entrance exam whether you have been admitted. If you are admitted, you will receive instructions on how to enrol in the master’s programme. Admission is valid only for the academic year following the entrance exam.
