Part of the bachelor’s programme can be taken through contract education. Completing a subject or course component can lead to a study certificate or statement of completion. As a contract student, you can use the same facilities as regular students. You can apply throughout the year.
You can apply for contract education throughout the year. However, most subjects can only be started in September, as they run for the entire academic year. In the application portal, you indicate which subjects you would like to take. A staff member from the programme will then review the options with you.
The contract education and preparatory programme terms and conditions apply.
In consultation with the head of programme and/or the education organisation coordinator, you put together your own programme. All criteria and descriptions for subjects and course components are the same as those used in the regular bachelor’s programmes.
Admission takes place through an intake interview. If you want to take main subject lessons, an audition is part of the admission procedure (you can find the admission requirements on the bachelor’s programme page).
To follow theory classes in Jazz & Pop, you are required to take a theory test (unless you already hold a conservatory diploma). Theory classes are only available if there is space within the existing groups, as no separate classes are created for contract education. As a contract student, you follow the regular study progress.
For Classical Music, a fixed set of subjects applies. Admission to Classical Music takes place through an entrance exam. As a contract student, you follow the regular study progress. Toward the end of the academic year, you give a presentation concert.
Contract education is not subsidised. Fees are therefore based on cost price. Below you will find the base rates per 60-minute lesson (depending on the group you join). If the lesson duration differs, the fee is calculated proportionally. Payment per semester or in instalments is possible. VAT does not apply.
* The fee is based on a 60-minute lesson.
An entrance exam is required. Admission requirements and entry level are the same as for the bachelor’s programme (year 1).
* Only possible if the lecturer has available hours.
Additional lessons
Extra main subject lesson: € 75 per hour*
Duration: maximum of 4 years
Total cost: € 2,470
* Only possible if the lecturer has available hours.
In year 4, students graduate according to the bachelor procedure. A certificate is issued if the student has already obtained a Bachelor of Music or a Bachelor of Music in Education.
