2 - Curatorial Practices in Music: Making It Real
Making It Real: From Artistic Vision to Curatorial Practice
The Curatorial Practices in Music part 2 course, Making It Real, runs from January to May 2027 as an optional extension of the course. Together, we will form a learning community exploring the strategies, working methods and tools needed to turn your ideas into reality. Online meetings will take place once a month on Thursday afternoons, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM.
To begin with, you will explore your existing strengths and the qualities you would like to develop, using Artistic EntreComp, a model specifically designed for the arts. Based on the outcomes, the group will collectively determine the content of the sessions. Together, we will select the most relevant and useful models to strengthen your project from within.
What do you need to assess the feasibility of a project? How do you convince potential stakeholders of its value, or rather: its necessity? How do you find the right partners and reach your audiences? How can you translate your plans into a balanced budget that will help you secure the commitment of potential funders?
The course is limited to ten participants, each of whom will develop an individual project plan. Throughout the process, you will receive personalised feedback from both fellow participants and the course leaders. The final session will provide an opportunity to pitch your project plan and receive feedback from the group.
This intensive course works like a pressure cooker. You expand your knowledge and explore new possibilities by exchanging ideas each month about your own projects and those of others.Meanwhile, you will work on your project plan. You will develop your own idea, learning as you go how to strengthen it step by step, in the face of sometimes unruly reality. Completing your project plan concludes the course.
