Defining Your Vision: Discovering Your Curatorial Voice
Explore the potential meaning of music in live performance
The course Curatorial Practices in Music Part 1, Defining Your Vision, runs on Monday afternoons (3:00 PM-6:00 PM) from January to May and enables you to explore the potential value(s) and the significance of music within your practice.
Through reflection and exchange with others, you will deepen your own practice. Exploring content from the dual perspective of cultural theory and music practice offers ample opportunity to discover new ideas, reflect on developments in recent years and revisit and transform your practice.
In 15 online meetings (3 hrs), you will enrich your own ideas in inspiring presentations and discussions with guest speakers, fellow students and ArtEZ lecturers. We will also involve a small library that you will help compile and present, with literature in the fields of music and curatorial practices In doing so, you will transform your insights and ideas about music practice. The result will be reflected in a concluding position paper with a corresponding programme idea.
