Try Out - Bachelor - Zwolle

Programme per year

Your first year is all about your own creative process. You will work on a year-long personal exhibition-performance, creating new artworks in your own workspace. Two teachers provide intensive guidance and help you discover the methods that suit you best. Each semester, you select two domains that match your interests, such as scenario, image, movement (theatre), space, sound, meaning, or audience. This helps you shape your own style and expressive voice.

In years two and three, you design your own curriculum. You will take creativity-focused courses such as the Creating Creativity minor and Liberal Arts minor. You can also choose additional minors within and outside ArtEZ that align with your interests. If you wish to carry out a project in the public domain, you can do so through a field project. There are no fixed routes; you decide what, when, and how. Additional depth can be gained through special summer schools.

Your final year centres on your graduation project. You will reinterpret your first-year exhibition-performance, applying all the skills and knowledge you have gained. You will investigate how your art can create societal impact and document this in a report or dissertation. Finally, you will complete your final exam project, which is assessed based on your creativity, the impact of your work, and how effectively you communicate your message.
