Why School of Acting?

The ArtEZ School of Acting in Arnhem trains you to become an independent actor for theatre, film and television, with a focus on the craft of creating. There is also a strong emphasis put on reflection and on research into your own artistry. Even while in the acting programme, you will be at the heart of professional practice through lessons from professional actors and directors and working with directors and creators from the field.  

Developing yourself

During the programme, there is a focus on craft, research and reflection. Moreover, the programme's integrated approach of practising first, then applying, helps you to become an independent and self-sufficient artist.

Dependable supervision

The small-scale nature of the programme means that you will receive intensive personal supervision with your studies and your internship. A mentor will supervise you throughout your studies.

At the heart of professional practice

The School of Acting has a good network and close partnerships with the professional field, which means you will be at the heart of professional practice whilst taking the programme.

Lecturers from the profession

You will be taught by experienced lecturers - currently active directors and actors in theatre and film.

Interdisciplinary

You will be studying in an environment with students from all different artistic backgrounds, from dance and writing to fine art and music.

International exchange programme

Thanks to excellent links with partners such as the Kunstuniversität in Graz, Austria, you can gain experience studying abroad, from two weeks to six months.
