Music in Education - Bachelor - Enschede

Why Music in Education?

You want to make music and share that joy with others. Working with groups gives you energy. You want to become an enterprising, innovative teacher with a first-degree teaching qualification in music, cultural and artistic education (CKV) and general art (kunst algemeen).

In this diverse degree programme, you will mainly learn through practice: you will do several internships, take part in collective music productions and go on a cultural trip every year. This way, you will gain broad experience. After graduation, you will be well prepared for the professional field and ready to start working as a music teacher straight away.

Meaningful education

At the Music in Education programme in Enschede, our goal is clear: to train the best music teachers. Teachers who inspire others to develop musically. Music technology and the specialisation in remedial music education are important components. You will learn how to use your artistry and talent to engage and motivate groups.

Broad musical foundation

You will take classes on your main instrument and develop skills in other musical disciplines. You will sing in the choir class, play in ensembles and take singing lessons. You will also learn to play piano, guitar and drums and to develop your musical ear to a high level. This will enable you to inspire, guide and support your future students.

A mix of opportunities

At ArtEZ Academy of Music in Enschede, you will work in professional studios, concert halls and an innovation lab. In the Music Theory Workshop, topics that might seem dry at first will come to life. You will learn and create together with students from the Pop Academy, MediaMusic and Music Therapy programmes.  You will also become great at organising events, from an introduction camp and cultural trip to a full music production. And you will go on a cultural trip, which you will learn to organise yourself. This means you will combine top-level facilities with a close-knit, creative community.
