MediaMusic - Bachelor - Enschede

What you'll learn

You will begin the programme with ambitions and a dream. – and during the programme, you will gain the knowledge, opportunities, professional environment and network to make that dream a reality.

Prepare for the professional world

By exploring different areas of the discipline and gaining a clear understanding of the professional field, you will be able to refine your ambitions as you study. We call this gradual shift from hobby to profession, and from theory to practice, the ‘crossfade model’. This approach ensures that when you graduate, you will already have significant professional experience – giving you a strong start to your career.

Become the creator behind music for film, games and online media

Music and sound are everywhere – on Netflix, in games, online, in shops and even in electric cars. Students and graduates of MediaMusic are among the people who create that music: from the latest beats for rappers and soundtracks for Hollywood films to sound design for new games.

To create this music, you need solid studio skills, which you will learn from professionals at MediaMusic. But this programme is more than just technical – we place strong emphasis on the musical side of the craft. If you also have a solid musical background, you will bring valuable added depth to your work. Because the programme is part of the ArtEZ Academy of Music, you will study in the same building in Enschede as the Pop Academy, and the Music Therapy and Tailor-Made BA Music in Education programmes. Knowledge, lecturers and networks are shared across these programmes, giving you more connections, more facilities and more knowledge as a student.

Individual coaching and group lessons – your pathway to professional studios

You will receive both individual coaching and group lessons. Class sizes vary depending on the subject, from four to twenty-six students, with an average of seven in practical classes and between thirteen and twenty-six in theory lessons. Coaching sessions are individual.

In the first half of your studies, you will explore the full range of professional possibilities, determine your direction and develop the skills you need. The second half of the programme focuses on your graduation project and professional practice. Thanks to the programme’s strong industry network and the positive reputation of its students, you will find opportunities across the world – from film studios in California and recording studios in Nashville to renowned studios across Europe and the Netherlands.
