Projects

PAMM Productions

Third-year students who take the Music Management and Musiconomy minors work at PAMM Productions, the joint production company of the Pop Music programme and MediaMusic. PAMM maintains strong connections with the music industry and alumni network, and organises part of the projects for both programmes – including the MediaMusic Award, the annual competition for the best music production. The production company also programmes bands, organises sessions at music venues and supports students in setting up their own (graduation) projects. PAMM is involved in festivals such as Popronde and Stukafest, and regularly initiates collaborations between students from the Pop Music and MediaMusic programmes and other ArtEZ disciplines.

Booster Festival

Students in the Music Management minor organise the annual Booster Festival in Enschede on behalf of PAMM Productions. The festival is not only a showcase for emerging talent, but also the perfect opportunity to meet professionals, receive feedback, ask questions and expand your network. Pop Music student Jeangu Macrooy, for example, was discovered at Booster. Student organisers work closely with partners such as Poppunt Overijssel, Poppunt Gelderland, Popsport, De Nieuwe Oost, Burgerweeshuis, Hedon and Metropool.

Project weeks

During project weeks, you will attend masterclasses led by international guest lecturers working at the highest professional level. There will also be writing camps, excursions, collaborative projects and coaching sessions. Students can even pitch their ideas directly to professionals from the music industry.

Study support

In your first two years, you will have a career coach who helps you explore your career options and decide which direction you want to take after graduating. You will also have specialist coaches for specific areas such as music production, sound design and working abroad. In your third and fourth years, you’ll also be supported by a business coach and an internship coordinator, alongside the student counsellor, who is available to all students throughout the programme.

Music & Health

Musicians face high physical and mental demands. That’s why ArtEZ pays close attention to healthy music-making, especially during special project days and weeks. You will take part in classes on healthy voice use and learn how to recognise and prevent work-related strain or injury, helping you stay healthy as a musician and therapist.
