MediaMusic - Bachelor - Enschede

Programme per year

As you explore different aspects of music production and learn more about the professional world, you’ll have the chance to refine your ambitions and adjust your goals along the way. We call this gradual shift from hobby to profession, and from theory to practice, the ‘crossfade model’. It means that by the time you graduate, you won’t be starting from zero – you’ll already have a wealth of experience and be ready to take the next step in your career.

In your first year, you’ll already choose a profile – though this decision isn’t final yet. Assignments are wide-ranging, giving you the freedom to discover many different areas. For example, a student who chooses Composer for Film, Games & Media will also complete assignments from the Songwriter & Producer profile.

Enkele van de vakken die je in het eerste jaar krijgt zijn:

-    Studio Engineering
-    Sound Design
-    Mtech Theory
-    Musicwriting Tools
-    Music Management
-    Producer Keys
-    Musicwriting and Production
-    Communication en Management
-    Projects en Productions
-    Producer Vocals
-    Producer Lab
-    Handling Studio’s
-    Live Lab

If, after your first year, you discover another direction that suits you better, you can still switch profiles at the start of your second year. This is a year for building skills and deepening knowledge. You will also begin to build your portfolio of songs and productions – and we’ll encourage you to make it as diverse as possible. You’ll do this through collaboration with other programmes and faculties both within and outside the ArtEZ Academy of Music. If elements from another profile inspire you, you can integrate them into your own learning path.

Your graduation phase begins in the third year with research and two minors. You can choose from options such as:

-    Sound Design
-    Audio Engineering
-    Vocalist/Instrumentalist
-    Music Management
-    Educator

If you would like to study abroad, you can do so in your third or fourth year.

In your fourth year, you will complete your internship and your graduation project. You’ll have plenty of time and space to expand your portfolio and shape your professional identity. There is also strong focus on the business side of your project – you’ll receive business coaching and can get support in setting up your own enterprise.

All graduation projects are showcased during the ArtEZ finals. Would you like to see what current students are working on and explore whether this programme is right for you? Visit our website and attend the presentations.
