Harp

• being part of an active, inspiring harp class with an open, curious attitude. You work in a positive, stimulating learning atmosphere and receive a great deal of individual attention;  
• a wide-ranging course curriculum in all styles with regular guest teachers Constance Allanic (historical harps) and Masumi Nagasawa (18th- and 19th-century repertoire and harps);
• new music and cross-over workshops, improvisation skills, participating in projects, setting up your own projects;
• chamber music and ensemble coaching, group classes, orchestral audition training and competition preparation;
• studying in an internationally oriented course. You are given masterclasses by leading harpists, go on exchange, attend other harp classes (abroad) and take part in competitions and/or festivals abroad. 
   

Specific admission criteria for Harp

In addition to the general admission criteria, there are specific instrumental admission requirements. You prepare at least one etude and one recital piece, unless otherwise specified. The stated works serve as an example. You can also choose other pieces with a similar level of difficulty.

Your artistry is tested on the basis of:

• major and minor scales along with the accompanying arpeggiated triads and tetrads;
• two recital pieces from different style periods: one from the eighteenth century, one from the nineteenth/twentieth or twenty-first century;
• two etudes differing in character, tempo and technique, for example Bochsa - 50 Etudes opus 34 (volume 1 or 2) or Nadermann - 18 Etudes für die Hohere Ausbilding or J.M Damase - from 30 Etudes.
