In the third year, you will complete an educational internship. This is an opportunity to put your music teaching abilities into practice at a professional organisation, applying the knowledge and skills you have acquired during your Music Education classes and enabling you to become an independent music teacher.
The nature of your internship depends on what you would like to learn and where you want to work as a teacher later on. Do you want to work at a music school or start your own teaching practice? Are you interested in leading workshops, band lessons, ensemble coaching or projects for special target groups? Or would you rather become a teacher specialising in your instrument? You should consider these questions at the beginning of the internship process, then search for a placement that best suits your learning needs.
In the fourth year, you will have the opportunity to complete another internship. This will be an intensive placement somewhere within the professional world of music. You will seek out and arrange this internship yourself, and it should be related to your chosen specialisation and the content of your programme.
