Jazz & Pop - Bachelor - Arnhem

After graduation

Through the specialisations in your final study years, you are prepared for your musical niche in the professional field. You know what you have to offer, and which market it is relevant to.

Title and diploma

After completing the programme, you receive the Bachelor of Music diploma. You may then use the title Bachelor of Music (BMus). This programme is registered in the Registratie Instellingen en Opleidingen (RIO) under code 34739.

Working as a versatile musician

You can perform as part of a band, ensemble or orchestra, or appear as a soloist at venues and festivals. You can also work as a studio musician. An interdisciplinary practice is another option — think of performances with fine art, theatre and dance. We assume that every graduate will engage with teaching in some form, whether at music schools, arts centres or within a private teaching practice. Almost all professional musicians combine several of the activities mentioned above.

Further study

With the master Jazz & Pop you specialise further in the direction that appeals to you most. The two-year Docent Muziek op Maat in Zwolle leads to a first-degree teaching qualification. If you choose Docent Muziek op Maat as a second bachelor’s degree, you pay the favourable statutory tuition fee rate.

Entrepreneurship

Many of our students go on to work as self-employed professionals, or combine a salaried position with entrepreneurship. That is why ArtEZ places strong emphasis on entrepreneurship, both during and after your studies.
