Illustration Design - Bachelor - Zwolle

After graduation

Your degree

After successfully completing the programme, you will be entitled to use the official title of Bachelor of Arts (BA). This programme can be found in the Dutch Registry of Institutions and Programmes (RIO) under the code 39111.

Career opportunities

Many illustrators are self-employed. For example, you can work on your own publications, books or exhibitions, or on assignments for magazines, festivals, design firms or cultural institutions. You can also create content for interactive applications such as apps, games or websites.

Illustration Design graduates work in a variety of media, styles and collaborations – from autonomous to applied. You can decide for yourself what to create. That could be a critical graphic novel, a children’s book, a poster for a theatre performance or a series of images that you combine with performance or audio.

Further study

Would you like to explore your field in more depth or specialise? After your bachelor’s programme, you can continue with a master’s programme in the Netherlands or abroad, such as a master’s programme in visual arts, storytelling, design or art education. If you would like to teach, you could take the two-year programme Fine Art and Design in Education (part-time accelerated) at ArtEZ to obtain a first-degree teaching qualification.
