Graphic Design - Bachelor - Zwolle

Upload your work

The admission process consists of two rounds. The first round includes submitting your portfolio, a motivation letter, and any additional requirements. Based on this, you may be invited to the second round: the admission day in Zwolle.

The first round requires digital submission of:

  • a completed questionnaire;
  • your portfolio;
  • one or more home assignments;
  • a motivation letter.

During the admission process, a team of lecturers and students will assess whether the programme is a good fit for you. They consider:

  • Your creative ability: Can you translate ideas into images? Do you have an eye for colour, shape and materials? Does your work show originality?
  • Your motivation and communication: What drives you? What inspires you? Can you show and explain this clearly?
  • Your thinking and research: Are you curious? Do you dare to experiment? Can you evaluate your work critically?

Portfolio tips

  • Show three-dimensional work – for example furniture, clothing or other objects (not only drawings or paintings).
  • Include personal work – sketches and designs made on your own initiative are especially valued.
  • Show your process as well as results – how did the idea start? What worked and what did not?
  • Practise observational drawing – you will work a lot with hand-drawn sketches; as preparation, make a daily spatial drawing from observation in your sketchbook.
  • Curate and present clearly – make a well-considered selection and present it in a clear, well-organised way.

Get early feedback – at our open days, you can have your portfolio reviewed and receive tips from lecturers and students.
