Graphic Design - part-time - Bachelor - Zwolle

Programme structure per year

The part-time Graphic Design programme takes four years to complete and includes visual design subjects, theory classes and individual research projects. You’ll work on current social themes, engage in artistic research, and develop your own vision as a designer. Individual research is at the heart of the programme, helping you develop conceptual thinking and design from your own ideas.

You are introduced to the field and will develop basic skills in typography, image and design. Eight-week modules focus on assignments around social themes, alongside subjects such as Philosophy and Art & Design History. You learn to reflect on your work and build personal and digital skills.

You will refine your design vision and explore the design principles introduced in year 1. You will explore how design can make a difference in society and start sharing your work more with professionals and the public.

You will be developing your own visual style and carry out independent research. The programme encourages connecting personal interests to larger social challenges, presenting work and participating in discussions with designers, teachers, and fellow students.

You will formulate your own design question, conduct artistic and theoretical research, and create a final visual project that brings everything together. Your work is presented to the professional field and showcased at the ArtEZ finals in Zwolle.
