The GDA community is ambitious, critical and curious. As a student, you will learn to translate this attitude into your own design practice. You will develop a research-oriented way of working: asking questions, making connections and using design thinking to create new ideas and systems. You will apply a variety of research methods and experimental design strategies in your projects.
You will learn to design from a human-centred approach, where technology acts as both a tool and a conversation partner. As a future designer and citizen practitioner, you will explore the impact of your own design choices. What do your actions today mean for the future? How can you contribute to future good and future goods?
Being visionary takes many forms. During the programme, you will learn to navigate constant change – as audiences, technologies and distribution methods evolve, so too do cultural positions and social perspectives. You will develop the flexibility to adapt to this dynamic world and reflect critically on it.
The student learning experience remains at the heart of the programme. Within the GDA community, you will collaborate with fellow students and lecturers in an open environment that encourages experimentation, specialisation and complexity. You will learn as equals and explore alternative ways of learning and working together.
