Why Fine Art and Design in Education?

You love making art – and working with people. Perhaps you have already experienced what it is like to teach someone. It gives you energy. You see how art can touch others or help them look at the world differently. 

The Fine Art and Design in Education programme is intended for people who: 

• like working with art and want to discover how to use it to teach others;
• want to know who they are as a creator and how they can develop;
• want to find the place that is right for them: in a classroom, in a museum or working on their own project. 

Learning by creating, thinking and teaching

In the workshops, you will develop as a visual artist. You will work with different techniques and materials, learn to reflect on your work and link it to theory. That is how you learn to think by creating. In the didactic components you will discover how to convey your knowledge to others. All these components come together during projects and internships. 

Lots of possibilities after graduation

After graduating, you will have a first-degree teaching qualification for all types of education. You will be able to work in a school, but also elsewhere, such as in a museum, cultural organisation or as an independent artist educator. The field is broad and still growing.
