Fine Art and Design in Education - part-time - Bachelor - Arnhem

Upload your work

The application procedure consists of:

  • a questionnaire;

  • a take-home assignment;

  • your portfolio.

Submit the Reflection / Inspiration assignment no later than two weeks before the next admissions day. Bring the Creative assignment and your portfolio with you to the admissions day in person.

What we look for in your application

  • Your creative ability
    Can you translate ideas into visual form? Do you have a sense of colour, shape and material? Does your work show individuality?
  • Your motivation and communication
    What drives you? What inspires you? And can you show and explain this clearly?
  • Your way of thinking and researching
    Are you curious? Do you dare to experiment? And can you reflect critically on what you make?

Tips for your portfolio

  • Show three-dimensional work. Think of furniture, clothing or other objects — not only drawings or paintings.
  • Include work you made on your own initiative. Sketches, drawings or experiments done outside school are especially valued.
  • Show not only final outcomes, but also the process leading up to them. How did an idea develop? What worked, and what didn’t?
  • Practise drawing from observation. The programme works a lot with hand-drawn sketches. Try to draw a spatial observation every day in a sketchbook.
  • Make a careful selection of your work and present it in a clear and well-organised way.

During open days, you can already have your portfolio reviewed and receive tips from lecturers and students.
