Fine Art and Design in Education - part-time - Bachelor - Arnhem

Internships

During this programme, you will do an internship every year. This is an essential part of your development as a teacher. At this point, everything you have learnt during the programme will be applied in practice. You will discover what work environment suits you, which groups you enjoy working with, and how you want to shape your role as an art educator.

In years 1 and 2, you will do internships in secondary education. This will give you a good understanding of teaching and allow you to practise designing and giving your own classes. You will not only learn the subject itself, but also how to shape it in your own way.

"Art education opens your eyes to reality."
Hannah, student

In year 3, you will choose your own internship, either within or outside education. The in-school internships range from primary and secondary schools to vocational education. External internships may take place at museums, festivals, publishers or art centres, in the Netherlands or abroad. The programme has many professional connections and networks set up within the field and will help you find suitable internships.
