If you pass the first round, you will be invited to the first admission day at the ArtEZ Academy of Art & Design Arnhem. Below you can read what happens next.
Here is what you can expect on the day:
- An interview about your motivation and general interests.
- Assessment of your own work and portfolio. This means not only finished pieces, but also sketches and designs, which show how you think and create.
- Assessment of your home assignment. You will receive this assignment after applying through Studielink. You complete it at home and bring the result to the entrance exam.
If the first day goes well, you are invited for day 2. This is the next day, from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. You will complete a design assignment on site, within a set timeframe. The admission committee you talk to will advise the exam board on your admission.
During the entrance exam, your artistic and creative ability, originality and drawing skills will be assessed. This will be based on three competences:
- Creative ability: you can express yourself visually, both from observation and from a concept. You have a sense of colour, form and materials. Your work shows your personal style and originality.
- Communication skills: you can share your interests and inspiration clearly. You are motivated, disciplined and able to engage others in your ideas.
- Critical reflection: you are curious and experimental, and you show a strong interest in art and culture.
