What we look for in your application
During both admission rounds, we look not only at what you create, but especially at who you are as a creator. Our lecturers pay attention to:
- Your creative ability – can you turn ideas into images? Your sense of colour, form and material – does your work show individuality?
- Your motivation and communication – what drives you? What inspires you? And can you clearly express that?
- Your way of thinking and researching – are you curious? Do you dare to experiment? Can you reflect critically on your work?
We are not looking for a perfect portfolio, but for the beginnings of your unique perspective – something that invites us to have a conversation with you.
Portfolio tips
- Put together a varied selection of your work: videos, music, sketches or games you have created. Include other things that show your creativity.
- Include work that you have created independently, such as sketches, drawings or experiments you did outside of school. We especially value this kind of work.
- Show not only the final results, but also the process that led to them. How did you develop your idea? What worked and what did not?
- Practise drawing from observation – during the programme you will work a lot with hand-drawn sketches. Draw a spatial observation in your sketchbook every day.
- Select your best work and present it clearly and coherently.
