Why Creative Writing?

Creative Writing is for storytellers who want to become writers. You will experiment with everything: from novels to writing for film, games, VR or the stage. This will allow you to explore what is uniquely yours, what makes your writer’s heart beat faster, and what being a writer means to you. 

Unique writing programme 

ArtEZ offers the only full-time higher professional education (HBO) programme in the Netherlands that focuses on both writing and presenting prose, drama, poetry, documentaries and literary non-fiction.  

Start creating straightaway 

You will create literary work from day one. During the programme you will get opportunities to share your work and respond to new developments in the literary field. 

Strong connections 

The programme is closely connected to the literary world. You will work with festivals and organisations such as Wintertuin, Nieuwe Types and EACWP, and gain experience through internships at publishing houses and public broadcasters. This way, you will begin building your professional network while you are still studying.
