Projects

You will take part in several projects during the programme. The Start Project Week is a great way to get to know your fellow students. In the Composition Project Week in year 1, you will compose for the Matangi String Quartet and work with student choreographers. In projects such as Pleasure Island you will collaborate with students from seven other art disciplines. 

In year 2, you will write film music in a project with Orkest De Ereprijs. In year 3, you will write interdisciplinary scores for either String Ensemble Zwolle (students of Classical Music) or The Hague-based ensemble KLANG. In year 4, you can write and record your own orchestral works in collaboration with FAMES!, the professional session orchestra from North Macedonia. 

Music & Health  

Musicians sometimes face huge demands on their physical and mental health. This is why we at ArtEZ pay close attention to healthy music-making, primarily during special project days and weeks. You will follow a series of classes on how to take care of your voice and learn how to recognise and prevent work-related illness. You can find more information on the Music and Health page.
