Projects
You will take part in several projects during the programme. The Start Project Week is a great way to get to know your fellow students.
In the autumn of year 1, you will work with student choreographers from the Dance Artist programme at ArtEZ, learning how to write for sound and motion, and discovering how different disciplines think about time, space, and storytelling.
In the spring, first-year students compose music for the internationally known Matangi String Quartet and experience rehearsal and recording sessions with the live musicians.
In projects such as Pleasure Island you will collaborate with ArtEZ students from seven other art disciplines.
- In year 2, you will write film music and work with Orkest De Ereprijs, an ensemble specialised in performing the music of living composers.
- In year 3, you will write interdisciplinary scores for the ArtEZ String Ensemble (students of Classical Music Zwolle), the The Hague-based Ensemble KLANG and the Tilburg-based Ensemble VONK, in collaboration with students from the ArtEZ Creative Writing department.
- In year 4, you can write and have your own orchestral works recorded remotely in collaboration with the FAMES! Orchestra, the professional film-scoring session orchestra from North Macedonia.
