Comic Design - Bachelor - Zwolle

After graduation

Your degree

After successfully completing the Comic Design course, you may use the title Bachelor of Arts (BA). This course may be found in the Dutch Central Register of Courses in Higher Education (CROHO) under code 39111.

Career opportunities

After graduation, you could become a comic artist, specialising in telling stories in images. You could start work as an independent creator producing your own comics or graphic novels. Or you could work on assignments for newspapers, educational institutions, cultural organisations or festivals, for example. Many alumni combine making comics with illustration assignments, teaching or working as visual storytellers in journalism, media or education.

You will often work independently, but also regularly collaborate with writers, animation studios or creative collectives. You will be available to work flexibly and tailor your stories to different target groups and contexts. That will make your work both varied and relevant.

Further study

Would you like to explore the field in more depth? The Master’s programme in Illustration Based Narrative at ArtEZ is the perfect next step after your Comic Design degree.
