Classical Music - Bachelor - Zwolle

After graduation

Your diploma

Upon completion of the programme, you will receive a Bachelor of Music degree. You will then be entitled to use the title Bachelor of Music (BMus). This programme is registered in the Register of Institutions and Programmes (RIO) under code 34739.

Getting to work

The Bachelor's degree in Classical Music provides you with an excellent artistic foundation. This allows you to determine precisely how you wish to utilise your talents in society. You will have gained extensive practical experience and built up a network, enabling you to find your place in the cultural (music) field. Our graduate musicians work in various roles, including:

  • freelance musicians in musical theatre, opera or orchestra productions or in a band, such as Jasper Arts and Mechthild Drop;
  • musicians with their own ensemble, for example, Noam Staal (Libero String Orchestra), Ferdinand Binnendijk and Suzanne Zijderveld (Duo Corelli), Yaroslav Kolpakov (Duo Da Vai);
  • teachers at a music school or in their own teaching practice, such as Philine Coops, Eva van den Dool and Esther de Boer of Collectief Dubbelgreep;
  • performing musicians, for example, Tim Klompenburg, Christiaan Kuyvenhoven, Ferdinand Binnendijk, Jenneke de Jonge, Erica Vogel, Maxime Snaterse, Jisk Lieftink and Sara Klein Horsman;
  • producer of cultural education activities, such as Eva Wilgers at Phion;
  • organiser or supervisor of cultural education activities within companies or neighbourhoods, such as Melissa Siemonsma from De Vertellende Piano.
With Classical Music in Zwolle, you can go in any direction. In the morning, you might programme a performance with a theatre group, in the afternoon you might teach an eight-year-old and a sixteen-year-old, and in the evening you might be onstage yourself.
