Artisteducator in Theatre & Media - Bachelor - Zwolle

Why Artisteducator in Theater & Media?

Do you love telling stories and are you interested in theatre, media, or film because you want to move others? In the Artisteducator in Theatre & Media programme in Zwolle, you’ll discover your artistic passion and develop into a maker, changemaker, researcher, and educator.

This programme is for you if you:

  • are curious about the world and want to explore it;
  • are entrepreneurial and want to tell stories;
  • want to make theatre and get excited about multimedia techniques such as projection, immersive storytelling, and film;
  • want to share your vision with others;
  • believe in the power of art in our society.

Tools for your vision

Moving between different art disciplines, you’ll develop a broad perspective on theatre and media from installations and performances to film, dialogue-based formats, and productions. Touching others through your artistic practice is a craft. And the way you do it should fit who you are. That’s why we give you all the tools you need to develop your own style and vision.

You decide what you want to explore. This way, you shape the programme into something that fits the profession and stays authentic and challenging.

Inspire the community

You’ll work in all kinds of places across the Netherlands (and beyond) with different communities where you can inspire and energise people. You’ll be active in neighbourhoods, in schools, at youth theatre schools, and in the educational field connected to established theatre companies.

You’ll also collaborate a lot with students from other arts programmes in Zwolle, including students from the ArtEZ Academy of Art & Design and the ArtEZ Conservatory. In the first three years of your studies, you’ll meet through a shared programme.

Challenging labs

In our labs, you can experiment, build, research, and create with a strong focus on new technology and immersive storytelling. Using these (digital) tools, you’ll be able to respond to the growing demand for visual education, graduation films, and media literacy. You’ll develop into an independent and creative artist educator.
