What you'll learn

During the Artisteducator in Theatre & Media, you will learn to create meaningful theatre and media productions. You will be given the tools to develop throughout your life as a progressive theatre and media maker. All aspects will be covered: directing, designing, filming and producing, and there will be a strong focus on lighting, sound and innovative technologies. In short, you will become a versatile artist educator who works with and makes an impact on society.

You will learn:

• To act from a technical perspective;
• To shape stories in real contexts, using what is available on the floor;
• To tackle issues that are important to you with an inquiring mind;
• What your creative approach is, using tools such as voice, lighting and sound;
• Reflecting on your own way of thinking as a performing creator and using that to make an impact;
• Creating your own performances based on your creative vision;
• Collaborating with other creators, co-creating with other disciplines.

We challenge you to develop your own style and vision with design thinking in design-based research. You will shape your own learning pathway by examining a central question, decided by you, from an investigative perspective. Based on your ideas, you will create examples and tests that you try out. The emphasis is more on seeking possibilities and solutions than on an end product.
