The admissions process consists of two rounds. The first round takes two days, and the second round takes one day. If you pass round 1, you will be invited to the second round.

During the admissions process, we look for an independent working attitude, engagement with current affairs, and an investigative mindset, among other things. We also value your ability to visualise ideas and reflect on your work. The admission committee advises the Examination Board on whether you will be admitted.

Outcome and validity

After the admission day, you will be informed within five working days whether you have been admitted. During the entrance exam, you will already receive feedback.

Admission applies only to the Artisteducator in Theatre & Media programme in Zwolle, and only for the academic year that directly follows the selection round.

Be well prepared for the audition

Auditioning can feel both exciting and nerve-racking, but above all, it’s a lot of fun and a great learning experience. In the video below, we explain how it works, so you will know exactly what to expect the day of.

If you would like to prepare even more thoroughly, consider signing up for the preparatory programme days. We also have a link with Theaterwerkplaats Zukunft at the Jeugdtheaterschool. From age 14, you can create theatre productions with ArtEZ students through Zukunft.
