Interior Design - Associate Degree - Zwolle

Admission

After registering via Studielink, you will receive an email with instructions explaining how the admission process works.

The admission process is a way for us to get to know you and see whether you are a good fit for the programme. At the same time, it is also an opportunity for you to discover whether this programme is what you are looking for.

On this page you can read what the admission process involves and what you need to submit.

What our lecturers look for:

  • Your creative ability: Can you translate ideas into images? Do you have a good sense of colour, form and material? Does your work show originality?
  • Your motivation and communication: What drives you? What inspires you? Can you express and explain this clearly?
  • Your way of thinking and doing research: Are you curious? Do you dare to experiment? Can you evaluate your own work critically?

The first round

For the first round of admissions, you submit a questionnaire, your portfolio, two take-home assignments, and a motivation letter digitally. Based on these materials, we assess whether you will be invited to the admission day.

  • Your portfolio is a selection of work you have created. For tips on preparing your portfolio, see Prepare well.
  • The take-home assignments are creative tasks. For example, you may be asked to make a drawing from observation, create an anatomy study, produce a short animation on a given topic, or make a piece of 3D work based on a theme.
  • In your motivation letter, you tell us more about who you are, what you can do, your development, and your motivation for choosing this programme.

The second round

If you pass the first round, you are warmly invited to the admission day at the academy in Zwolle. What to expect:

  • You will work on two assignments – one in observational drawing and one in spatial design.
  • You will also have a conversation with lecturers and students to get to know each other. In these conversations, you will discuss your portfolio, motivation, home assignments, inspirations and creative process.
