Panel discussion with Piet Zwart Prize winner 2017 LUST

BNO Piet Zwart Prize 2017 goes to LUST design collective
On 28 October, during the Award Show of the Dutch Design Awards 2017, the LUST design collective was awarded the BNO Piet Zwart Prize. The jury chose LUST out of thirty nominations because of the studio's importance for the latest generation of designers. The core of LUST and LUSTlab was formed by Jeroen Barendse (lecturer at ArtEZ Interaction Design Arnhem), Thomas Castro (head of the ArtEZ Graphic Design department Arnhem) and Dimitri Nieuwenhuizen. LUST was founded in 1996 and makes work at the interface between classic graphic design, digital media, information technology and architecture. Work by the design studio and LUSTlab, which was founded in 2010, can be seen in many international museums and exhibitions, including MOMA, the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Museum, the Walker Art Center Minneapolis, the Shanghai Biennale and the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam.
Last September, Dimitri Nieuwenhuizen, Thomas Castro and Jeroen Barendse announced the end of LUST. In October, family, friends and colleagues bade farewell to Dimitri Nieuwenhuizen (†17-10-2017). More info
