Rehabilitation is elite sports, ArtEZ students let you experience it yourself

SPOTTED in De Stentor: Students from the bachelor's programme Artisteducator in Theatre & Media in Zwolle developed the interactive installation 'This is NOT a game' to let visitors experience what it's like to live with a rehabilitation process.

We want to create more understanding and patience for people in a rehabilitation process. This can happen to anyone.
Puck van Rooijen, student Artisteducator in Theatre & Media

The installation takes visitors through different rooms where they encounter obstacles that simulate mobility issues, speech challenges, and sensory overload.

This is NOT a game

The installation takes visitors through various rooms where they encounter obstacles that simulate mobility issues, speech challenges, and sensory overload. From narrow passages to bright flashes of light and confusing conversations, each room offers a unique experience that shows how impactful rehabilitation can be.

Art and education

The installation was developed as part of their studies, where the students learn how art can be used to address complex topics. In collaboration with the Vogellanden rehabilitation center, they delved into the challenges clients face on a daily basis. Visitors concluded the experience by writing an encouraging card for a rehabilitation patient, not only raising awareness but also offering real support.
