From Kunstbende to ArtEZ
When Seb finished his movie about life during quarantine, he submitted it for Kunstbende: a community in which you discover, develop and share your creativity with others. As a Kunstbende member, Seb was able to participate in various workshops and preliminary rounds of Kunstbende competitions in his province Overijssel. Seb applied for the Film category and won! Making this film and winning Kunstbende ended up being his ticket into the bachelor course Moving Image.
I have put the film in my portfolio. It is one of the main reasons why I was admitted to ArtEZ.
ArtEZ and Kunstbende join forces to show young creative talent the way
ArtEZ has been one the main partners of Kunstbende since 2005. Our joint mission is to make art and culture accessible to everyone and to encourage young talent to fulfil their artistic potential. We have formulated a joint goal to inform, inspire and help young people navigate their way through the art and education in arts courses.
Seb about Moving Image
Seb really enjoys the mix of the small size and diversity incorporated into the education offered at AKI ArtEZ. On top of that, the programme is structured freely, which he also enjoys: “You don’t have strict guidelines on what to create and how it should be made. The study is more about the creative process; that’s more important than the end result. It doesn’t have to be an amazing Marvel film right from the get-go.”
I have complete freedom to experiment with everything in my studies at Moving Image, from filming itself to animation and stop-motion. It’s nice that I am not limited in what I want to do.
