This was the 20-year Academy of Pop Music Festival

On May 17, the Academy of Pop Music celebrated its 20th anniversary. That, of course, called for a party. In the evening, pop venue Metropool in Enschede was completely dedicated to this anniversary with Academy of Pop Music acts from past and present in every concert hall. In the afternoon (former) students, teachers and staff found each other again during a reunion. Scroll down for the photos!

Friendships for life

Happy faces, hearty hugs and a tear here and there. During the reunion of the Academy of Pop Music, it became clear that friendships and collaborations for life were born there. After the reception in the canteen of the ArtEZ Academy of Music in Enschede, visitors could make music together as usual, during a pop choir led by André Bijleveld. The afternoon ended with the Academy of Pop Music Pubquiz.

Solid names at the Academy of Pop Music festival

Easy to guess what Krystl, Jeangu Macrooy, Ten Times a Million, Oh Whale and Luna Morgenstern have in common: they are all from the Academy pf Pop Music. These and many other acts were free for all to see at Metropool. About 900 people booked their tickets.

Spotted on RTV Oost: "Feels like coming home"

The Academy of Pop Music occupies an important place in Overijssel's cultural sector. RTV Oost stopped by to capture the reunion. They interviewed (former) students and the head of the course, Davy de Wit: "The former students feel like coming home. Very cool to get back in conversation with them. It's like picking up conversations from yesterday, but in reality it was years ago."
