About the teacher
Accordionist, composer, producer and PhD-researcher; interested in a broad set of styles, including jazz, latin, classical and improvisation in general. Always exploring new sounds and approaches to the accordion and involved in many projects and groups both as band-leader and sideman.
Worked with musicians like Bert van den Brink, Jeroen van Vliet, Ramon Valle, Juan Pablo Dobal, Teus Nobel, Oene van Geel, Francis van Broekhuizen and Egon Kracht. And artists like Paul Verhoeven, Mini & Maxi, Waylon and Maan. And worked for/with institutions like Opera Zuid, Opera Minora, YoOpera and European Space Agency (ESA).
Recorded several albums and toured nationally and internationally. And initiated and organised two editions of the festival Jazz Tour aan de Maas (2018-2019).
Studied a BA in classical music (Codarts, 2006) and Argentinian Tango (Codarts 2006) , a MA in Jazz & Pop (ArtEZ, 2008), Advanced solo performance and Alexander Technique (Italy, 2011) and started a PhD at Leuven University and Orpheus Institute (Ghent) in 2020 and will be defended (hopefully) around January 2027.
