About the teacher
I’m Kees Bulder, a legal counsel and musician specializing in copyright, contracts and the music industry. At BumaStemra, I provide counsel during negotiations with digital platforms—including streaming, UGC, VOD and AI - and contribute to the organisation’s AI policy. I hold a Master’s in Information Law (UvA) with a focus on intellectual property, and I have been teaching Copyright & Agreements at ArtEZ Conservatory since 2023.
Before my legal career, I enjoyed being a freelance musician and played frequently played guitar, piano, harmonica and vocals. My musical taste leans towards older music, with Bob Dylan, The Beatles, Ray Charles and Dire Straits among my favourites. In class, I combine legal expertise with a musician’s perspective to help students understand contracts, protect their copyrights and navigate the music industry with confidence.
