About the teacher
Since studying in Portugal and the Netherlands, I have been active as a flautist and teacher, both of which I greatly enjoy. I graduated cum laude from the Conservatório Superior de Música do Porto and continued my studies in the Netherlands at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten, Constantijn Huygens, with support from scholarships from Nuffic and the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian. I also further developed my skills on the flute with Jacques Zoon and studied the baroque flute with Wilbert Hazelzet.
As a flautist, I am a member of the Holland Symfonie Orkest (HSO), and as a flute teacher at the ArtEZ Academy of Music, I enjoy sharing my experience and passion for music with young musicians. I have also worked as a guest teacher at institutions including the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa, the University of Aveiro in Portugal, and the Joseph Haydn Konservatorium in Eisenstadt, Austria.
Alongside my performing and teaching work, I completed a Master's degree in Education in Arts at ArtEZ University of the Arts.
One principle is central to my teaching: the student's authenticity is what matters most. Starting from that authenticity, I aim to encourage students to discover their own musical voice, develop confidence, and grow both technically and artistically.
