About the teacher
“Supporting others is my passion. I’m not interested in the spotlight; I prefer to work behind the scenes and make sure that the person in the spotlight feels as comfortable and confident as possible.
And every now and then, I like to show that I still have a few tricks up my sleeve myself.
Throughout my musical life, I have enjoyed playing jazz and pop, as well as piano and synths, equally. Over the years, however, my focus has increasingly shifted towards pop and synths.
Since 2010, I have been a permanent member of the Edwin Evers Band. From the first editions until the programme’s provisional end in 2022, I also played in the bands for The Voice of Holland, The Voice Kids and The Voice Senior.
In addition to the artists mentioned below, I have worked with many international artists on various TV shows, including Adele, John Legend, Marc Broussard, Lionel Richie, Michael Bublé, Anastacia, Jamie Cullum, James Morrison, Joss Stone and Gavin DeGraw.
I have worked with the following artists and bands for extended periods:
What a Gig, Midland Big Band, Candy Dulfer, The Backlot, Parker Brothers, Cor Bakker, Robert Long, De Toppers, Brigitte Kaandorp, Metropole Orkest, Paul de Leeuw and the Ik Hou van Holland band.
I have accompanied, among others: Toots Thielemans, Ramses Shaffy, Liesbeth List, Marco Borsato, VanVelzen, Ilse DeLange, Nick & Simon, Jan Smit, 3JS, Glennis Grace, Miss Montreal, Guus Meeuwis, Waylon, Ali B, Nielson and many others.
Since 2005, I have been a main subject lecturer in keyboards at the Popacademie at ArtEZ Academy of Music in Enschede.
Since 2012, I have also taught BKS to third- and fourth-year students. I developed this subject myself as a simulation of the studio work I do professionally.
I am also regularly a committee member for admissions, assessments and exams, and occasionally provide band coaching.”
