About the teacher
Floor van Leeuwen is a mimographer, researcher and final director. They developed Swarm, a choreography of coming together in public space. In collaboration with various people and organisations, several Swarms have been realised in recent years, addressing themes ranging from restrictions on the right to protest in the United Kingdom and refugee rights in Amsterdam, to a movement- and community-oriented addition to mental healthcare.
They also work as a final director for creators who perform in their own work, including Melyn Chow (among others Becoming God) and Karlijn Hamer (among others ZOG). As a researcher, they were affiliated with the architecture programme at ETH Zurich, among others, during a fellowship. For several years now, they have taught the 'Collaboration' course at the Music Theatre programme at ArtEZ.
