About the teacher
Elke Schlijper-Rouwmaat is an expert in vocal technique and methodology and is considered one of Europe’s leading vocal coaches. She has been teaching at ArtEZ Conservatoire since 2009, where she teaches singing, vocal technique and methodology, and conducts the vocal ensemble within the Music in Education programme.
She was also closely involved in the development of the Universal Voice System, which she helped shape into what it is today. Since 2023, she has been Head of Education at the Universal Voice Institute. She also conducts her own vocal group, performs as a singer and pianist, works as a session musician, and gives workshops to vocal groups and choirs.
