'Optimising your playing posture to help prevent playing-related complaints.'
About the lecturer
My name is Dianne Bolte. I studied piano, and I later specialised in helping young music students develop an optimal posture and way of moving when playing their instrument. My aim is to help prevent playing-related complaints, such as pain and fatigue, as much as possible.
I trained in this field with G.O. van de Klashorst, who developed Dispokinesis specifically for musicians. This method focuses on developing greater freedom and awareness in posture and movement, with the aim of preventing playing-related complaints.
I have been working at ArtEZ for 16 years, and I find great joy in what I do. I see it as a wonderful privilege to support young musicians in this way, whenever they feel they need or would like this support.
I also know from personal experience how frustrating it can be to want to play your instrument but be unable to do so because of pain. That is why I believe it is so valuable to learn how to prevent playing-related complaints and take care of your body as a musician.
