'Don’t just develop your voice, but also the confidence to let it be heard!'
About the Teacher
Ashley holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music in Education and a Master’s degree in Pop Vocals from Codarts. During her Master’s, she specialised in backing vocals, conducting research into the role and performance of backing vocals across different subgenres of soul and urban music. She also graduated as a certified Master Singer from the Universal Voice Institute, where she further specialised in vocal technique.
As a performing musician, Ashley has performed on international stages and has worked as both a lead and backing vocalist in a wide range of projects, both live and on the radio. She has also worked as a studio vocalist on albums, EPs, singles and musical theatre productions. This broad professional experience is an important part of her approach to teaching.
Since 2025, Ashley has been a vocal teacher at ArtEZ Conservatoire in Zwolle. In addition, she has been coaching singers of various ages and levels as a vocal coach for many years, including during preparations for album releases and studio sessions. She also works as a music teacher in secondary education. By combining her work as a performing musician with her experience in both conservatoire and secondary education, she keeps her teaching closely connected to current professional practice.
Her lessons focus on healthy vocal technique, artistic development and personal expression. Ashley helps students discover their own sound and develop with confidence into versatile and conscious vocalists. Her aim is to equip every student with the knowledge, skills and practical tools they need to work independently, sustainably and confidently both during their studies and in their professional careers afterwards.
